Lake Arrowhead

I took this picture in the Lake Arrowhead area. I picked this one in particular because I love the composition of it. It's perfectly balanced in its complexity and simple but beautiful in its colors. The bottom half of the picture is very visually stimulating, whereas the top half is clean and minimal. The flat white clouds create a bridge between the soft blue sky and the spiky trees and pointed spires of the buildings. The far buildings are cast in shadow, but the sun hits the snow-covered jetty and water. In the distance, the water looks smooth, but the closer to the camera it gets, the more lively it becomes in its ripples and texture. I also like the manmade lights that are strung up that break up the picture diagonally. At night, they give off a warm light that dances off the water and makes it into a cozier scene.
