South Lake Tahoe

I took this photo in beautiful South Lake Tahoe during Christmas break. The mountain range covered in snow is magnificent and something I could stare at all day. I love this picture because of the sun peeping through the pine tree creating a stunning backlit effect on the trees. The position and intensity of the sun reminds me of the back PAR in the black box theatre. The light source gives that punch and flood of light that really creates depth behind the subject. This PAR-like sun exposure also creates those nice long shadows coming forward towards the viewer that I really like. I think these shadows give a dramatic feel.
