I think moonlight is a lot cooler than sunlight. It's dark and mysterious, but still provides enough light for one to see. Moonlight doesn't offer full visibility like sunlight, but on a night with a really bright moon, one can easily see a good amount. And while the light of the moon isn't blue, everything in moonlight has a sort of dark blue tint to it. The moon is so much more dramatic than the sun is. What moonlight lacks in effectiveness it more than make up for in drama, mysteriousness, and color.
