Theatrical lighting

Over summer i watched a production of A Chorus Line and this iconic image was brought to life. Its interesting how light can convey emotions. The performance are lite in a dim light that only highlights there headshots. the lighting seems repetitive and identical, conveying that each person is the same and there is no individuality. In relation to the show the light is a perfect depiction of how these characters feel. the harsh shadows allow a uniform feeling but conveying the desire to standout but the inability to do so. I find it fascinating that one lighting cue can evoke many emotions.
